I really liked it. Good length, good commentary, and your comments about The Apartment and Requiem for a Dream were fascinating. I love the reference to the Jimmy V quote, it fit perfectly.

Not bad... this should boost your average "time on site" on google analytics ;)

@Danny Thanks! It's such a good speech everyone should see it.

@MVP Oh no, you're on to me!

That was a fun podcast! I had a good time listening to it.

I agree with you about The Apartment being a great romance and how Jack Lemmon makes a movie more likable just by being in it.

I've never seen Requiem for a Dream, but it sounds like a movie a high school health class should show, in the place of those really cheesy anti-drug videos.

I'm not a big Nicolas Cage fan either, but I thought he was pretty good in Peggy Sue Got Married.

Great podcast! Really enjoyed hearing your perspectives and the video store story, it's amazing what sparks things off eh?

Very interesting that Precious not in the NBR nods, perhaps it's a little indie? I bet it will get 1 or 2 Ocsar noms (writing/acting) not bet not more than that. Lots of time til we find out!

Awesome first cast, I'm impressed!

Really enjoyed that. Cheers for the mention. I can't guarentee that I'll have time to listen every week(?) but when I can I will.

Glad you enjoyed The Station Agent, I agree whole-heartedly with your comments about Peter Dinklage and I think the reason the humour works so well is it is human, everyday, humour, not the sort of thing you see in an average comedy nowadays. I'll also be going back to watch it again after your comments about the ending.

Top stuff.

Big Day for Univarn!

First of all, welcome to the LAMB. I kind of had to laugh when I saw the post saying you were the latest LAMB because it made me ask myself "Wait - he wasn't a LAMB already?". Gotta love that ADD.

Pretty darned good for a first podcast...I actually listened to it today during my morning commute.

I liked the way you breezed from one topic to the next, and how you summed up what we'd been doing on 1001 so concisely. Don't take too long before recording episode two okay...and try not to blank out on my url this time ;)

Of course, the real amusement of listening to your podcast was the fact it was posted the very night I sat down to record my first one.

@TJ thanks!

@Marcy It's a movie I think everyone should watch but because it deals with heavy drug use, sex, and violence I doubt it'll go anywhere near schools.

@Shannon thanks, you never really know with a film like Precious, especially since Lee Daniels isn't helping their cause any (imo).

@thistime perhaps you should. There's a bit more to the ending than I said, but not much, and it was very underwhelming for such a great journey.

@Mad when podcast #2 comes up will be entirely based on my schedule. I'm going to shoot for next friday/saturday but I have a lot of exams so I may not have anything to talk about! Though I'd just like to say, haha I win!

Very nice. Very nice. It's weird hearing your voice. Now I know you're a real person [ha]. When's the next one.

And note, I'm coming to your blog to tell how entertaining it was. Very.

PS. I saw Precious. I'll review soon.

@Andrew if you want I can try and do the next podcast with my mickey mouse impersonation if that'll make me less real (granted the longest I've ever tried to maintain is about 20seconds)? Look forward to your Precious review!

Great news. I'll be uploading my latest batch of podcasts tomorrow morning, and yours will surely be on the list (as will Hatter's - I'm very eager to listen to both). Did you get it on iTunes yet?

Woot - under 30 minutes!

Fletch said...

Okay, nevermind that iTunes bit. I am subscribed (and will be listening sometime over the next few days).
