Seeking out a top secret decoding machine, James Bond (Sean Connery) unknowingly walks into a trap organized by none other than S.P.E.C.T.R.E.
When it comes to the "best bond" film, everyone has an opinion, and just about everyone has a different favorite. I spent forever debating which one I wanted to be in my top 100 films, and ultimately decided From Russia With Love narrowly beat out Goldfinger for my all time favorite Bond. I mean really, Bond is the ideal man, and Connery was the perfect Bond. He was tough, smooth, funny, and above all entertaining.
From Russia with Love by all accounts has it all, the manipulative, but sexy Bond Girl, Daniela Bianchi. The awesome Bond Villians Lotte Lenya, Eric Pohlmann (voice), and a great, but small, intellectual challenge in the form of Robert Shaw. To be honest there's nothing insanely special about From Russia with Love, it's just got everything you'd ever want in a Bond film. It's the epitome of everything these films have portrayed throughout the years, and by those accounts it's perfect for someone like me.
You can't go wrong with early Connery Bond films, and From Russia with Love is one of the premier examples of all that Bond can be when done right.

A lot of people say this one is their favorite. Personally I don't get the love, while it's definitely one of the better earlier Bond films I still found it slightly boring and drug out at times, compared to some of the others. But that's what's great about the Bond franchise, everyone does seem to have their favorite no matter how outlandish it may be. At least your not one of the ones who finds the lone George Lazenby film or the Timothy Daltons the best. Those people really confuse me.
