Obligatory DVD Release Post 7/27/2010

Did you know that if coconuts and grass skirts were combined with centaurs you'd have the most awesome luau in the history of the universe?

Just keep that in mind next time you plan yours. O.k.?

New Releases

Clash of the Titans:
RELEASE THE KRAKEN! Currently available to ride at Sea World! You know, I imagine release the kraken becoming the world's worst euphemism. Instant buzz kill, and one that shall forever shame those who use it. Now, excuse me while I go pet the zebra. Did I just make that up? Yep. Does it mean anything? *shrug* Good luck with this one.

Repo Men: Hello, we'd like your artificial kidney. But instead of doing something normal, we'd like to jazz it up a bit. Throw in an assassin spin. Maybe some overproducing testosterone tough guys, and see what happens. Now, I know this may hurt, and will probably kill you (assassin's don't always make for the best doctors), but it's better than us hiring real doctors! So, good bye. Oh, and review up for this on Thursday.

Operation Endgame: I seldom do commentary for straight to DVD movies but with a cast list that includes Maggie Q, Ving Rhames, Ellen Barkin, and Odette Yustman (among others including Zach Galifianakis, Rob Corddry, and Emilie De Ravin) I figured I might as well take a peak at it some point down the road.... though I have an odd feeling I'll forget all about it in about 10 minutes.

Other Releases: Ip Man, Batman: Under the Hood, The Art of the Steal, Don't Look Up

Other Goodies

Rambo: The Complete Collector's Set (blu-ray): Who needs anything else when you have four cheesetastic Rambo adventures? It's almost like Christmas everyday!

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (blu-ray): Now here's something of interest. Ang Lee's 2000 visual masterpiece making the blu-ray transition? Definitely enough to peak my interest. Shall have to hunt down someone with a blu-ray player, and check it out!

Happy DVD hunting!

Nothing really pops out to me personally. If anything, I MIGHT give Clash of the Titans a rent down the road.

Clash of the Titans was my biggest disappointment of the year.

Not too interested in seeing Clash of the Titans. Might give Repo Men a shot as the concept seems (slightly) original. Next!

Operation Endgame used to be called Rogue's Gallery, which i guess wasn't sexy enough, and it also has Tom Anderson, who I will make play Kurt Cobain because he looks so much like him, how dare he fake us out with The 27 Club...

Rambo. Yay.

@Dreher I figured I'd eventually watch Clash of the Titans with the family at some point in the next few days.

@Alex Really? To me it always looked very mediocre, so I'm not sure it could disappoint me much.

@Castor Just finished watching Repo Men, will have my review up Thursday in case you want some more input.

@Simon I still don't believe anyone's allowed to have the name Tom Anderson unless they always wear trenchcoats, have slick black hair, and sunglasses. Sorry, The Matrix always wins that argument.
