Hope you all have enjoyed some of the minor changes I've made to the layout. Still working on it, but we'll see how it all pans out!
Now, as for this week's releases... well quantity is a good thing right? Who needs quality? I'm perfectly fine with a mass amount of films I don't care about.
New Releases:
Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief: Welcome to Harry Potter and the Curse of Mediocrity. Or, well, make up your own Harry Potter ripoff joke! This film's fair game for insults. It wears its mediocrity on its shoulders, and never turns back... except for the occasional wow that was bad acting moment. Because of the overseas success there will likely be a sequel... yay? Podcast Review
The Crazies: You know, I've been thinking, the use of the word "THE" here seems a bit selfish. I know plenty of crazy people who aren't in the movie, so I think to claim they have them all is wrong. Though I do suppose "Some Crazies" doesn't quite have the same appeal.... How about a compromise: "A Reasonably Large Number of Crazies"... too long?
Hot Tub Time Machine: Uni Won't Watch Film. There, I've successfully matched their 4 words with my own. I now claim to be the victor, and conqueror of all cinema. Take that The Man! You'll never hold me down! I'm king of this blog, and that's just the way it goes. Oh, and as for this movie, John Cusack = *heart*, rest of cast = *meh*.
Creation: Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connolly, if you two ever get a divorce I'll be forced to write a very angry email letter. One of my favorite actors to watch, with one of my favorite actresses to watch (I'll let your mind interpret as will). It's just a super combo. Unfortunately, I don't think either have made good film choices lately, and this doesn't look to stop that.
Other Releases: The White Ribbon (the one with the Oscar), Warlords (the one that was released 3 years ago), When You're Strange: A Film About the Doors (the one Johnny Depp narrated)
Other Goodies
Predator (Ultimate Hunter Edition / Blu-Ray): Oh Predator, how I love thee, let me count the ways. With looks that could kill, and the weapons to match, I'm wondering how you've not managed to become the feature for some dating website. People lack creativity... and that's sad.
Night Train to Munich (Criterion): Oh, I desperately want to watch this movie. Besides, my film viewing list is painfully lacking in the Rex Harrison department! Something I intend to fix. Away I go!
Happy DVD hunting everyone... remember, don't spend money unnecessarily, unless you're going to buy me a gift, then spend away!

DOCUMENTARY Oscar races.*
At long last, AMPAS has started divulging...
3 better thoughts:
I vote for The Doors - rather well-made doc about one of rock's greatest bands. Failing that, I'd vote to make it an "older movie week"...such as I did by renting SUNSHINE and SYMAPTHY FOR MR. VENGENCE.
I can't say I'm too excited about this week's crop (this year sucks!) I do want to see The White Ribbon and maybe I will be suicidal enough to throw in Percy Jackson...
I think this week's releases are actually pretty decent.
The Crazies- I really liked this one. A good action-horror-thriller that doesn't really fall into the stupid cliches of modern day horror films.

The White Ribbon- Anomalous Material's only A+. Yeah, you check it out.

Creation- Most critics seemed to hate it, but i am with you when it comes to loving the two actors involved. Will definitely have to check it out.
Percy Jackson- Surprisingly I didn't go watch this one in theaters. If they continue with the series, hopefully they do the same thing as Harry Potter and go away from Chris Columbus.
Hot Tub Time Machine- Might check it out eventually, but certainly not in any rush to do so.
