Is there anything opening this week? Ehhh I'm not sure. I don't think so. Nothing all that important anyways, right? Oh, what? A big movie is opening this weekend? Really? Oh is it that movie about Sarah Jessica Parker being eaten by a bear!? Oh wait that's wrong? Oh it's right, but not the movie you're talking about.... hmmm. James Cameron? Terminator? Titanic? Avatar? never heard of it. What's it about? Blue people? 10 feet tall... riiiiight, someone's been smoking the pipe.
Wide Releases:
Avatar: James Cameron says: "Watch this movie" I say "ok". Do I sound a bit unenthusiastic? Well I have to say I'm forcing that upon myself because I don't know when I'll get to see this, and don't want to waste hopes on it. Besides I'm still waiting on Cameron to make Titanic 2: Rise from the Deep!
Did You Hear About the Morgans?: No.... and you know why? Because I DON'T GIVE A **** ABOUT THE MORGANS!!!! Marc Lawrence, the man behind Two Weeks Notice, Music and Lyrics, and Miss Congeniality (writer only) has come back to torture the souls of the film going public once again with this movie that looks so bad even it's target audience is debating staying home. One thing is for sure this will likely have 2 great laughs muddled by 2 hours of horrible dialogue and undeveloped romance.
Limited Releases:
Crazy Heart: Unfortunately this is not a horror film about a killer heart rampaging throughout the south killing everything in South (one can dream can't they). Instead this is a movie about a drunk country singer trying to rebuild his career. Looks like the Wrestler, smells like Vodka, likely to be great for Bridges, uplifting for the rest of us.
Nine: 8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1.... Daniel Day Lewis! I think I've made my case (will have more to say on its expansion next week.
The Young Victoria: As a warning to Emily Blunt you should be careful of doing nothing but period pieces, or else that's all you'll do for years (just ask Keira Knightley). Of course with a cast list of Paul Bettany, Rupert Friend, Miranda Richardson, and Jim Broadbant I have to watch it :).
That about wraps it up for this week. Enjoy your viewing adventures!
Special Guest List: 10 Great Christmas Crime Movies

It’s one day before Christmas and I’m enjoying the holiday in warm, sunny
Florida with family. I’m taking a week-break from blogging, but thanks to
my pal ...
2 better thoughts:
I knew you were into Leo de Caprio and that you want to see him suddenly alive in TITANIC2 (after he gets saved miraculously probably by penguins or polar seals right from the icy ocean :))
Sherlock Holmes the last good film of the year, next Friday.
