And we're back from outer space! Yeah, I know that's a horrible opening, please forgive me. I ought to know better.
First: Logan's Run - 1976
Featuring - Michael York, Jenny Agutter, Farrah Fawcett
Second: Soylent Green - 1973
Featuring - Charlton Heston, Leigh Taylor-Young, Joseph Cotton, Brock Peters, and Edward G. Robinson
Theme: In the world of science fiction, nothing is ever as it seems.
Noteworthy Accolades:
Does Jenny Agutter Count? If not, she ought to...
The Final Film of Edward G. Robinson - OK, not really an accolade, but it's a final moment worthy of the legend.
No Oscars or Golden Globe nominations- Take that the establishment, these movies have done just fine without your faux golden figurines!
Univarn's Ratings:
Logan's Run - 7.25/10
Soylent Green - 7.25/10
Enjoy!

I wish I could like them, but both these movies suck (Agutter and Robinson notwithstanding) Soylent is so low-rent, one wonders where the budget went. And I've never got past that Logan's Run made Renewal a spectator sport...didn't any of those kids realize that NOBODY got renewed? I mean, even Cubs fans get a clue after awhile!
I dug Logan's Run (though it's far too long) and I've been meaning to see Soylent Green for a while (it looks too ridiculous to pass up). Always happy to see sci-fi double features! It's probably my favorite kind!
What a fun double feature. I know it may not be cool to say (or perhaps it is cool in that o so ironic way) but I quite enjoy both of these films - in spite of, or perhaps because of their inherently bad cinema monikers.
Loved Logan's Run when I saw it years ago, but it needs a second viewing, and I've been meaning to find a copy of Soylent Green for a while now - such a cult status.
Aren't they doing a re-make of Logan's Run with Ryan Gosling? Or was that just a rumour....off to google I go.
Yup, they are. 2012.
Haven't seen Logan's Run which is a bit of a disgrace for me since I consider myself a huge sci-fi fan .. Well, have to check it out before the remake anyway!
