The Monday Corner 10/04/2010
For those who don't follow me on Twitter (*cough* Mad *cough*) you may not know that yesterday's Sunday Question on Product Placement was my 666th blog post! I dare say, an awesome number (granted the beast's number which is actually 616, originally, but that's neither here nor there). Now I have to say I liked that my 666 post went up yesterday for 2 reasons:
1. It went up in October, the month of ghosts, Halloween, and other creepy stuff (shhhh)
2. It was on a post involving Product Placement in movies, which I believe sums up anything I dare say.
For your Consideration:
Did you know chickens only fly southwest during the morning? Good, I made that up, and if you found yourself saying "duh, of course!" trying to act smart I'm sorry for the deceit, but it's your own fault.
The Movie Mobsters count down the 40 greatest deaths in film history! Unfortunately the death of Mel Gibson's career was not featured.
Anomalous Material is looking for your input on the best up and coming young actor. Please, for the love of anything, help us dethrone the obsessive Pattinson voters!
We all know I love a bit of randomness, and few take up that blogging realm as well as Sugary Cynicism with this hilarious post on faux Spoilers.
The Great White Dope is throwing down the gauntlet, letting all your fools know just because something is considered a "cult" film, it doesn't make it obscure. Preach it!
Kai and co-host Heather (who is getting the double dip plug this week) of the delightfully fun MILFcast (that's Man, I Love Films podcast - having turned down my recommendation of PEDOcast) were joined this week by none other than the much loved Mad Hatter (see above jab)! Not sure I got enough () in that sentence, but we'll see!
Poll Update:
The lowest number of votes in a very long time.... excuse me while I go weep in a corner.
Results:
1. 5 votes: One or two things all the time (I'm on twitter a lot so I suppose I fit here)
2. 2 votes: Out there but only occasionally (fair enough)
3. (tie) 1 vote: On everything all the time & One thing but I hardly ever check it
4. 0 votes: What's Social networking (I secretly wished someone would have voted for this)
New Poll: With nothing opening this weekend I care to discuss, I'm looking ahead to next weekend, and the premier of Red. I want to know - which Red cast member do you believe is the most badass?
Film Poster of the Week:

I may harp on the Coen Brothers mass fandom, but even I have to admit this poster is delectably done.
That's all for now, enjoy yourselves!

*cough cough*Doesn't use Twitter at all*cough cough*
Thanks for the link! The poster for True Grit looks awesome and the trailer is badass. I'm curious to find out if the Coen brothers can pull off a Western.
Thanks for the link love Univarn. Voted Morgan Freeman!
When your poll results get down to my level of participation then you can weep. I've for the most part stopped doing them because I found constantly posting twitter reminders was the only way anyone paid attention, and that got old. So suck it up! ;)
Sorry, I just voted in the current poll!
@Mad I know, hence my *cough* :P. One of these days I shall get you on Twitter. I suppose it'll most likely be the same day you convince me to change my rating system. So, in fact, most likely never (or a few days past when it matters)
@Sugary I think they can pull of a Western. I wonder if they can make it interesting. Westerns are great mediums for character and action, but if not well maintained they can be drawn out and boring. Something I believe the Coen Brothers do a bit too often without anyone keeping check.
@Castor of course, that's the way it goes.
@MVP Take lessons then. Don't complain too often. Just once in a while, then people will vote because they feel bad :). Already got 9 on the first day, matching my total of all last week.
@AlexJ Just proved my point ^. Though I always love getting votes :)
Thanks for the double plug! Oh hey, wow! Hey!
Kai is getting numerous new suggestions due to my "lube" slip! Oh hey, wow!
And I gave Bruce Willis some love, because I was at a party full of my husbands coworkers this past weekend, and the one guy looked like Bruce Willis so I kept calling him Unbreakable all night. :-)
