You Can't Handle the Truth

Love this scene. The chemistry between Nicholson and Cruise in this scene is just dynamic. Perfectly bouncing sentences off, and over the top of, one another. It's just great to watch.

Have a good Saturday everybody!

Oops, still haven't seen this movie. Ah well. I know this scene, though, of course, so I'm basically covered right? Nothing else of note in the entire rest of the film?

I love this film. Great, entertaining court room drama.

Probably my favorite Tom Cruise performance ever.

The scene is always quoted, but the whole reality, and the message behind the film gets you thinking: "Is Nichoolson's character wrong for saying what he says?". The question is raised at the end, and you still ponder that question even after the film is done.

Nicholson gives one of the best monologue ever. Agree with CMrok, he might go a bit overboard with his ideas but is his character fundamentally wrong? I think not.

I always catch this movie whenever it's on TBS and it seems I always catch it at this particular scene. Not a complaint, but hey - what a coincidence, huh?

Another great post, and in recognition of such, may I please present you with this award:

This is simply a wonderful film, but Jack was just so Jack in this. This monologue would easily make it into my ten favorite of all time. If he doesn't make you want to stand up and cheer I don't know what will. The way he arrogantly and smugly sneers his way through it at Cruise is just a perfect moment of cinema from one of the greatest of all time.
