This has been: WHEN DIRECTV COMMERCIALS GO WRONG

For your Consideration:
Feeling a bit extra sexy this week? Well, it's because you are, and I love you for it.

Simon from Four of Them breaks down the final church scene shot by shot in Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet.

Andrew over at Encore Entertainment takes the time to analyze the role of male bonding in films with a look at the legendary duo of Robert Redford and Paul Newman.

The Film Forager has (finally) seen 2001: A Space Odyssey, and like most of us has no clue what to make of it, but enjoyed it. Be sure to head on over for her thoughts.

Common Sense Movie Reviews goes all out in their review of the latest Crowe-Scott film, Robin Hood, coming out far more positive than many of the critics.

Eleven questions for the critics of Robin Hood courtesy The Film Doctor..

Poll Update:
Voting seems to be up, which means only one thing: you either all care, or are very bored.

Results:
1. 10 votes: Cary Elwes (even I was shocked by this one, love Elwes so all is well)
2. 5 votes: waiting on Crowe (well, now that you've waited, comment on your thoughts)
3. 4 votes: Kevin Costner (ok then...... no comment)
4. 3 votes: John Cleese (You have love random sketches that are awesome)
5. 2 votes: Errol Flynn (I'm not one to talk but so little love even compared to Costner? Shocking)
6. (tie) 1 vote: Sean Connery and Other (well, there you go then.

New Poll: Since I'm going to be away next week, and nothing opening interests me, I want to know how do you feel about the recent layout changes to A Life in Equinox?

Interesting Film Fact of the Week
New segment to the Monday Corner since Random Stuff wasn't generating much attention. So, here we go.

**** Prior to the casting of Alec Guinness, George Lucas highly considered hiring Kurosawa favorite Toshiro Mifune to play the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi. I even found an amusing Youtube video parodying this possibility.

That's all for this week, see you all next time!

DirectTV is the bomb. I called last Friday to get them to fix an ugly wire hanging off the roof. They threw me free Starz and $5 off for the next 3 months. Awesome customer service!

Wow, I'm a little psyched that I wasn't the only person who voted for Flynn.

At last! I am worthy of the internet space I take up! My existence is validated!

Thank you for the link, is what I say.

Andrew: I didn't comment, I think, on that post, but while I'm here, I very much liked it. Redford and Newman make the best manly couple.
