One month. It's a long time. I'm not even sure how to write one of these anymore! Do I use words? How about clicking noises? Maybe I should write it backwards for my dyslexic readers!? All the choices available!!!! AHHHHHHH! I'm gonna go crazy!
Oh wait, I already am. Victory for the Uni! Wahoo!
New Releases:
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans - While I know I may be in the minority here, I'm of the opinion they could have saved everyone the trouble, and just called the movie Bad. That way nobody has to type out it's unnecessarily long name, and everyone approaching the movie gets what they expect. To be honest I still don't get what people see in this, even after having read their positive reviews. I think it's low expectations + quirkiness. My review.
Home of the Giants: Signs your movie sucks. IMDB lists it as a 2007 movie. It's being released in 2010. But I know for a fact it was being shot in 2005 and 2006, because it was shot here at UNCG my freshman year (portions of it - I never saw any of the main actors though). Beyond that I have nothing to say.
Other Stuff: I'm No Dummy, Dirt! The Movie, Dolan's Cadillac, War Eagle Arkansas (wtf?), Plunder! The Crime of Our Time, La France, Finn on the Fly, Youssou N'Dour: I Bring What I Love
Other Goodies:
Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy - Blue Ray: This is something that may just be enough to get me to buckle down and buy a blu-ray player. Maybe.... To be honest, and I'm sure this won't surprise any of you, I love the extended versions, so I may hold out there.
The Natural: One of the best Baseball movies ever made, not to mention just one of the best in general, I'm really curious to see how this gets the blu-ray treatment.
Others of Note: The Graduate (Blu-Ray), Hoosiers (Blu-Ray), The Last Waltz (Blu-Ray)
VERDICT: Just buy some of these great Blu-Ray releases, and leave the new stuff on the shelf. It's not worth the $$$.

5 better thoughts:
Hold out on LOTR, that's what I'm doing because eventually they'll release the extended versions and probably combine both into one set. I also heard the video quality is a little disappointing compared to what it could have been, but more importantly the movie studios need to be sent a message that this forcing us to double dip is getting old. All they are doing here is releasing and sub-standard quality set to rake in a bunch of money while they work on a better quality set.
Word of warning. Nightmare on elmstreet blu-ray release pushed back to week of April 13th.
@MVP I hate when that happens. boooo.
@Jason thanks for the notice. I just get these off of IMDB so I trust them... usually.
wait for god's sake wait!
Speaking of the Natural (and to butt in on your post): I'll be reviewing baseball movies all week at floatingredcouch.com. . ..
I've already done the natural so that's not part of Baseball Week
I've only seen the original bad Lieutenant, so I am neutral on this subject...Nightmare on Elm Street kicks ass. Okay>
