So, as I mentioned on my Monday Corner Movienut14 (writer of Life of a Cinephile and Bibliophile) has created a new meme, of which I have been tagged. Since I'm such a nice guy (self labeled) I figured, why not? So, here's how this one goes: MovieNut14 has asked 7 film related questions, and now it's my turn to answer them (not all that hard, right?).
Beware: guilty admissions follow.
1) What was you first movie-going experience?
Honestly I don't remember. I will say as a kid I had such an incalculable amount of energy my mother would only ever take me to the dollar theater (where my love for them all began) because if I got out of control she was only out a couple of bucks.
2) How many DVDs do you own?
Gurgle. I have my list of movies owned, here. Total count (according to that - may not be 100% up to date) is 149 (wahoo?).
3) What is your guilty pleasure movie?
A guilty pleasure? Hmmmm. Armageddon probably counts but that's more nostalgia (same goes for Night at the Roxbury - still laugh every time, don't judge).
Keeping it modern I'd say Southland Tales. I thought it was hilariously off whack, but that's just me.
4) You have compiled a list of your top 100 movies. Which movies didn't make the cut?
The number of times I say "that should have been in my top 100" a day is a number I dare not even begin to count. To just name a few: The Departed, King Kong (original), Moby Dick (1956 version), Treasure of the Sierra Madre, etc.
5) Which movie(s) do you compulsively watch over and over again?
Right now: Serenity, Sunshine (2007), The Matrix, Untouchables, Unleashed, The Good the Bad and the Ugly. But this list is always changing.
6) Classic(s) you're embarrassed to admit you haven't seen yet?
My major problem with classics I haven't seen is often they're ones I haven't heard of (or don't hear of often). On my episode of Matineecast I said I haven't seen Das Boot, unfortunately that hasn't changed.
7) What movie posters do you have hanging on your wall?
Here's a guilty admission for you: none. That's right, despite my incurable love for movies I own 0 movie posters. It's not for a lack of want, I just prefer food over wall hanging (to be honest my walls are incredibly bare).
So, now the tagging begins. I'm only going to do two. And to be fair I know I just tagged some of you so don't worry about it.

You have no movie posters??? This needs to change prompto! I totally agree with the Top 100 omissions. I'm actually working on updating it and will probably expand it to a top 125 lol
Thanks for tagging me :) I will get to it in the next few days.
And so another one begins.
First of all who is De"s"mond??? :)
I also don't remember what was the first movie I've seen.
Here in my country we don't normally own and buy too many DVD's, we steal movies from Internet :) I think I have around 500 movies and TV shows on disks.
Guilty pleasure? I can't give a name of a movie, for me a guilty pleasure would probably be some bad actor or actress who just look way too good not to enjoy them (visually) :)
Believe it or not, I could never make a list of my 100 favourite movies. I could hardly make a list of top 10.
The films I've watched for more than 5,6,7 or even 10 times are MURRIEL'S WEDDING with Toni Collette, MOULIN ROUGE, THE FALL by Tarsem, ELIZABETH THE GOLDEN AGE, LOTR movies, HAMLET by Kenneth Branagh, DUNE, HEAVENLY CREATURES, SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE ....
Oh, since I'm usually moe inclined to future and current projects, I don't really like classics, so I've never seen CASABLANCA, GODFATHER, TAXI DRIVER..... but I'm not embarrassed at all about it.
Movie posters on my wall???? That's designer blasphemy! :))
@Castor One of these days it will. Just not today.
@Mike yep, sorry :).
@Dez my bad, wrote this right after an AI exam, head wasn't functioning fully. Besides s and z are too close together on the keyboard :P
Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't have any movie poster on their wall!
Ha! Night at Roxburry is hilarious! And that dance sequence! Everytime 'What is love?' comes on I instinctively wants to bob my head like Chris Kattan & Will Farrell, it's really a fun flick!
Is this the same thing as the other one I was tagged for? I don't remember that one having set questions, so I guess it's not. Now I have two I have to do! Is there a do not tag list out there I can sign up for! ;)
Alrighty then, my answers are up.
Totally agree with you on Southland Tales, crazy stuff right there! Check out my list at: http://dtmmr.wordpress.com/2010/05/02/seven-movie-questions/
