Obligatory Happy Thanksgiving Post

To all my fellow Americans: Happy Thanksgiving. To all my fellow non-Americans: Join me at camera 2. Where's camera 2? This is a blog there's no camera! SHUT UP!.. right. moving on.

So, today, as you can well imagine, you'll find blogs run by Americans riddled with these sort of posts. The Happy Thanksgiving everyone, but you, types yah know? You'll see the "Top 3 Greatest Thanksgiving Movies of All Time" posts (why 3? because there's only about 10 to begin with). Of course, the really sad part, only a handful of Americans actually know what happened in the days following Thanksgiving, but eh, who really wants to know all that right? It's amusing to me how a religious holiday can suddenly become nonsecular when we decide we want more vacation days from work.

Anyways, I'm not here to talk about all that jazz (jazz music? where?). There's a certain flair about Thanksgiving I've always enjoyed. No presents, on the day of, no marketing tie ins, it's a very unique holiday. Few people go out and decorate, even those who do spend little. In fact just about the only real expenditures are the turkey and ingredients for food, and I have nothing against that. Despite a harsh background (and a very screwy one at that), Thanksgiving is one of the really good holidays. One about families getting together, and spending time with one another. Not one about 30 minutes of presents followed by a day of ignoring before dinner time. Of course this year is especially great for me as my Grandparents have flown out to visit us, only getting to see them once a year is hard, and as soon as I finish this the rest of my day shall be spent with them.

Of course with Grandparents comes one other thing: home cooked everything *drools*. So I want to leave you with two things:

1. Yes, you should be jealous.

2. No, I won't save you any.

Why? Because Today may be the day for giving thanks, but I'm high on thanks, short of giving :P.

Oh well, guess I'll never learn :)

Enjoy it! Ours was six weeks ago, but it kinda feels like yesterday (I got married that week, making it all the more crazy).

Make sure you get out and see one new release over the break. You've had a long few months...you deserve to see something current.

Soak up four days of R&R, I gotta wait until Christmas before I can get my four days of R&R.

@Mad sadly enough I may not get to see a new movie this weekend. I have 2 very busy weeks ahead of me, but I swear this Christmas break I'm going to be known at my local theater by name I'm going to be there so much :)

My heart is with all the poor turkeys who will die in millions today :((( Hope they'll all end up in some feathery bird heaven.
