And I'm here to kill you, Little Bill."A few weeks back I did a little article on one of my all time favorite characters, Dr. Loomis, I've decided to continue with that trend and every once in a while, basically when I want something new to post, throw together a post for a character I really just enjoyed watching.
Ex-mad men gunslinger William 'Bill' Munny returns for one last bounty after retiring eleven years earlier to settle down with his wife who has now passed on.
As movie characters go, I can't think of many that leave an impact on you quite as much as Eastwood's 1992 Bill Munny from Unforgiven. Dark, somber, moody, and filled with grit, Eastwood plays the essential western anti-hero to the letter. Perfectly adapting a dark mood, with an anti-violence slant, Unforgiven really captures the power of Eastwood's presence. Of course it doesn't hurt that Munny is as quotable as he is likable and hatable. Throughout the film we see him as he transforms from his every day farmer persona to the dark killer he was before, all the while fighting such a transformation.
What makes it all work though is those final moments, the expression on Eastwood's face is pure priceless. It's dark, scary, painful, filled with hatred and aggression, this was without a doubt the best performance Eastwood's ever given (for my money anyhow).
Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

I just am not a big fan of this. Granted I was pissed that it won the Oscar. I suppose Clint just doesn't do it for me as an actor.
