I don't say this enough - nor do I feel it enough - but I'm practically jumping over barrels in anticipation of this movie. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, don't disappoint me!

This does look like it has some promise. Certainly the cast isn't terrible. I haven't read a John Le Carre novel yet, but I might have to now.
I think it would be tought to compress LeCarre's terrific book into a 2-3 hour movie, and it would be tough to top the mini-series—I still think of Alec Guiness as George Smiley, but, yeah, this one has me excited, too.
And directed by Alfredson (who did Let the Right One In? I'm in!
@Alan I'm thinking of checking out the novel soon.
@Yojimbo I think the real trick with these is not trying too hard to compress. Take the key scenes, interweave them throughout the core narrative and focus on the message, style, and characters.
I'll let you know that I did cover the script for this movie and it certainly was one of the better ones I have come across. I haven't read the book or anything though so I don't know how it compares.
I haven't read the book yet and I'm debating on whether or not I should. I don't really want to sit through the movie knowing who the spy is, you know?
