Dear god, what have they done? The lights are going out all across the globe! Children are running in fright. Birds fall from the skies. Cows fall in the fields. Hope has been cast aside in favor of misery and dread. The end is no longer near ladies and gentlemen. The end is here. Hollywood has completed the circle, all is lost. Only that one Zack Galifianakis film nobody saw remains. Please, those who survive, forgive us. We didn't know. We didn't know *weeps*.
OK, we kind of did, but it was like so totally cool yah know? And all those other things were like sooooo not.
Other Goodies:
Thelma and Louise (Blu-Ray): Whatever happened to Geena Davis? Did you know she's only made 19 movies? 19!? Man, I must have watched way too much League of Their Own growing up, I could have sworn between that and Beetle Juice she had done at least 50. Shame, always did like her.
Still Walking (Criterion): One of these days I'm going to go mad and see all these Criterion films, but until then I have to settle for drooling through the glass window (computer screen) begging for one to accidentally fall in my lap.
Strangers on a Train: Such a clever film that I imagine would have turned out oh so different with 60's and 70's Hitchcock. Still, you gotta love it for what it is... the foundation of nearly five million television cop show knock offs.
Bringing Up Baby: Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn... sorry I'm going to need a moment to myself here. WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Alright folks that's about all for this week. Enjoy yourselves!
4 better thoughts:
Yeah really - as if things weren't bad enough at the multiplex these days, we have to deal with tripe like this on the shelves.
*sigh*
Slow week!
And that's how you know this is February... This is so bad I might actually go check out either Sanctum or No Strings Attached this afternoon.
@Mad, Alex, and Castor: On the plus side, with these films you know where you stand going in... neck deep in rubbish.
