A Little Bit of Chaplin

Despite some helpful advice from my fellow bloggers last night on twitter I'm currently in a bit of a drought, movie blogging wise. I seem to be suffering from a two-fer onslaught of writer's insecurity and writer's block. Neither of which I'm particularly enjoying. So instead of wasting this space with second-hand rubbish and forced efforts I'm going to let you enjoy a couple of minutes with one of my favorite performers. Enjoy Charlie Chaplin in The Great Dictator.

It's my favorite Chaplin movie. Have seen 3 or 4 other ones, which I didn't like as much as The Great Dictator, timing was perfect and the message powerful.

My favorite Chaplin film as well, and one that I'm looking forward to seeing on a big screen next month!

As for the writer's block, I try to get around that by doing a glut of reading. See what's going on that you might not have known about...sometimes it can lead to a point/counter-point type of post.

If you feel like it, drop me an email about the insecurity.

I'm with you on the insecurity. A lot. Thank goodness Charlie Chaplin is around in a time of need.

@myfilmviews Which other ones have you seen? I recommend Gold Rush, The Kid, Modern Times, and City Lights, and especially Limelight. Chaplin always seems to have a message with his films which helps make them timely. Going in with a bit of back story makes them all the better.

@Mad Me = Jealous. I'll take your advice on the writer's block though I think I was able to sneak past it with a late surge last night. I'll email you later on, if I feel the need.

@Sugary I think all of us experience insecurity in our own ways. Some of us more than others :)

You definitely wear your heart on your sleeve on your twitter as I have noticed this too. All I can say is, don't blog or post for anyone else but yourself. Like I told Castor, I get 5x the views he gets yet he gets 80x the comments I get. It isn't discouraging in the least. Just keep doing what you're doing, the only thing you can do is keep your blog alive, the worst is...well quitting. You haven't quit yet so you're on the right path. Keep up the great work.
