Well, another weekend of releases I'm entirely uninspired to watch. So, once again you'll be stuck with me doing normal every day posts and not going to the theater. Sorry gents, even the highest praised films have yet to inspire me to cough up the $$ to go see them. I do intend to see Toy Story 3, I just have to with my family, or they'll complain, and I'll wait until they're ready to go see it.
Wide Releases
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (releasesed Wednesday): Don't care. Those who love it don't read my blog much anyways. No use whining about it. The equivalent of standing in front of a speeding train with a slingshot. Might as well get off the tracks, and just wait till the train stops. Because let's be honest, 20 years from now, nobody will really care one bit about the series. Well, except for that .01% of the population who never let go of anything.
The Last Airbender: The first trailer looked mediocre. The second looked rather good. The latest, which actually show the acting and story, look atrocious. I want this to be good, mostly because I keep hoping Shyamalan will return to form. Early reviews in, not going to happen. Please, somebody tie him down, make him take a few years off, and get back to what he does best!
Limited Releases:
Love Ranch: Lots of promising components to this week's real indie release, but it would seem this movie is also falling into oblivion. No real critical love, or buzz to push it through, I can imagine this movie quickly becoming one nobody remembers.

"...LOVE RANCH - no buzz to push it through..."
well, Hellen Mirren was trying hard to create a buzz herself by posing naked at her age recently to promote the movie :)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Love Ranch, but Helen has a whole lot going for her this year, so if this fails she's got one, two, maybe three back ups.
I want M. Night to return to form as well. I know I'm in the minority but I really liked The Happening.
toy story 3 is worth making the effort to see, it was amazing. I'm a huge fan on the avatar cartoon series so there's no way in hell I'm going near the crapfest that movie looks to be. The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable were great but M. Night is NOT an action director.
I'm hoping Airbender works out Shyamalan too. A lot of people rip on the guy but I hear a lot of people echoing your sentiments... they want to pull for the guy because, the fact of the matter is, he is one hell of a filmmaker.
The Avatar cartoon was my favorite show when I was a kid, and I hate how they made it into shit(y looking).
Shyamalan needs a good movie, yes, but this won't be it.
