I remember as a kid listening to someone sing 100 bottles of beer on the wall. Always thinking to myself, what a stupid song. The only way anyone would ever finish it is if they drank 100 bottles of beer to begin with. Then the song would be 100 bottles of beer on the floor... and we won't even discuss the amount of urine. Shutter Island: Is it just me or should Ben Kingsley just stop acting and become a rap star. Let's be honest the man was born for it. You put him and Leo in a two-act, Leo obviously the pop ballad lead in, and you're on to something (a new career). Then again, both are so fine of actors I can't help but love them, even in their most dreadful films. Thank god Shutter Island wasn't one. In fact it's one of the better films this year. My Review
From Paris With Love: To You With Hate. You've gotta hate it when they cut down film titles to try and make them edgy/cool. I'm not sure the trailers went 5 seconds without one horrible pun after another. So much so, that even a movie that looks as comically bad, and distracting, as this can't inspire me to rent it. I might still, but don't hold your breath. No, seriously, don't, you do need to breath every once in a while.
Other Releases: The Cry of the Owl (PADDY CONSIDINE!!!), Coach, Monty Python: Not the Messiah, 180 South, Shinjuku Incident
Other Goodies:
Caddyshack (Blu-Ray): Not really the kind of film that getting the blu-ray treatment is a big deal, but how can one not love this movie? Well, lots of ways, but hey I love me some Rodney Dangerfield, so all is well with the world.
The Illusionist (Blu-Ray): Perhaps the greatest misfortune of The Illusionist is that it's a movie about magic that came out the same year as The Prestige. Unfortunately being lost in the shuffle along the way. Still it's a more than capable film, with a great final trick, and solid romance to hold it together.

I have to admit, Im with you on Paris with Love, I have no interest in seeing it. It just looks so generic.
Shutter Island on the other hand...what a movie! Loved every second of it! I need to buy it.
Enjoyed Shutter Island but it feels like I have just seen in theater a few weeks ago. As for Paris with Love, it looks like the usual generic John Travolta vehicle. I have no interest in seeing it.
shutter island took my brain out back and mugged it and stole its wallet, it was that good. Paris looks stupid but my brother loves bad John Travolta movies and won't shut up about renting it. Also I would love to watch Ben Kingsley bust some tight lyrics
@FilmConnoisseur I'll probably look to buy Shutter Island as well. That final line of Leo = epic.
@Castor Yeah, I felt that way about Alice a couple weeks back. Movies are getting rushed to DVD way too quickly.
@SugaryCynic Just tell your brother that John Travolta isn't in the movie. And that it's his twin brother Julius. Nobody will ever know! IMDB can be wrong some time... right?
Definitely going to be picking up Shutter Island soon. One of the best films so far this year.
Is it just me, or does the feature-less release we've been given for SHUTTER make you think that a better edition will drop later?
(Not like I really need to buy more dvd's right now anyway)

@Mad You never know. It seems to me that every DVD these days gets a flat release and Special Edition release. Those darn SE are directed right at the pocket book of us extra fanatics :)
First of all, no hatin' on the South! Secondly, I liked Shutter Island, but I'm not sure it warrants repeat viewing. Sometimes, films with a big shocking twist require rewatching to catch all the little things pointing toward said twist along the way. I don't think Shutter Island is one of these films.
@Rachel Who is hating on the south? You taking it negatively is hating :P. Besides I'm from NC so I know more than enough people to warrant that statement :)
