THE FINAL LINE

"How do you find your way back in the dark?"

(submitted by: Andy of Fandango Groovers)

Reflections: With over 600 books written about her life, Marilyn Monroe is one of the most documented women in the history of cinema. Add to that the dark underlying struggles of her life, and you get a final quote well worth remembering. An individual so torn in depression, you on some level wish it was a question asked in real life. Something someone could answer, and help her with. The short decade she was huge in cinema is a highlight for many. Her presence near unmatched, and her charm infinite. Truly one of the great stars of the silver screen.

I did not know that about her hair.

She lived quite the life, though - how many actresses can claim to being the mistress of a President?

I was never too fond of Marilyn, although she did spurn some hilarious quotes. I don't know who coined it but, "She plays dumb like a midget plays short" is a favourite. Still, she oozes charisma and seemed like a nice woman.

Nice final line. I like how you tied it into her real life a bit. I've never seen the movie. I wonder, is the line delivered up or down beat? I first read it as a forlorn sort of longing line, but now I'm re-reading it literally, like she lost her flashlight or something.

How appropriate.

I forget, does Orson Welles last role (in the animated Transformers) count?

@Darren Well we all know Roosevelt was a big pimp so you gotta be careful :P

@Andrew I like her presence far more than I do her films.

@Will It's a bit of both, literal in the film, and figurative to the story if I recall correctly (it's been ages since I've watched it).

@Simon I think http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094007/ technically counts as his final film (according to IMDB). But if you have a performer whose final film is in an animated film, and it was released to theaters, it does count.
