Obligatory DVD Release Post January 26, 2010

Uni, where did your name come from?

Well, originally I went by Unizilla. Then I became Hindu and decided to honor the Varna. So now I'm Univarn.

Really? Is that true?

Nope, but it's a good story, isn't it?

New Releases:

Whip It: Ellen Page in a skirt beating up other women... I think I've had that fantasy a few times. Though it usually ends in a massive makeout session. Wait a second, does this movie end the same way? I can't believe I haven't seen it yet!? I could be missing out! *RUNS TO BLOCKBUSTER*

Bright Star: Star light, Star Bright, please for the love of good allow me to see this movie tonight. I've been waiting long enough, now I finally get to see the, well claimed, beautiful romance film from Campion. By the way, over/under 10 tears?

This is It: Has any movie in the last few years spun more of the same bad twists on its title in reviews than this movie. I swear if I have to read one more "That was it?" review, I'm going to start unfollowing people.

Surrogates: It's odd that a movie about people going into robots to avoid pain can, by consequence, induce such pain on its audience throughout the runtime. Perhaps that's the real trick of the movie. My Review.

Other Releases: Saw VI, The Boys are Back Home, Little Ashes, Pontypool, The Donner Party, I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell.

Other Goodies:

Roberto Rossellini's War Trilogy: I just have to see this. There's nothing else to be said. It's an ideal Uni-approved package.

I hope you enjoyed your stay! Now, I've just got to figure out where I put my third arm....

Whip It was one of my favorites of the year (though few others seemed to agree). It's really fun and has a great cast, plus it's basically completely made by/starring awesome ladies.

I didn't realize Bright Star came out this week! Thanks for making me aware!
