The Monday Corner 1/25/2010

Latest notes to self from Uni:

1. Write script for Tickle-Me-Elmo: The Movie. Try to sell it to Michael Bay for a Transformers crossover series.

2. Don't bitch slap a ninja. They have sharp objects.

3. Avoid seafood...

4. Learn secret to life, sell to people on daytime talk show.

5. Align with Dr. Phil and Oprah for new plan at world domination.
*sub-note: Continue to try and train Panda Bear army as backup.

6. Learn to spell.

7. Make ultimate zombie badass movie. Cast needed: Woody Harrelson, Ving Rhames, Ken Foree.

For your Consideration:
You know, one of these days all of us bloggers need to get together. I'm thinking dinner. what day are you all free?

This Time it Will be Different muses over whether or not people are confusing a good day out with a good film, Avatar-wise. And is there really a difference. Amazing read, highly recommend it.

Final Cut is working on their dissertation and needs your help! UNITE BLOGGERS, GO GO GO!

The Ludovico Technique finds little cheer about with the ever classic The Untouchables. Good points, but I still love that movie.

Common Sense Movie Reviews gives Pride and Prejudice an 8. Do we actually agree on a movie? I dare not comment for fear of jinxing it.

Encore Entertainment let's it all hang out on this year's oscars, vowing to not get caught up in all the hype anymore.

Life of a Cinephile and Bibliophile watches my favorite film of 2009, Moon, and comes out with a resounding yes (or at least I'll say it's resounding)! I'm still waiting people :P.

Poll Update:
Golden Globe thoughts... hmmm. Very spread out, but then again that's always the beauty of it all!

Poll Results:
1. 4 votes. Some Good, Some Bad
2. (tie) 3 votes. Absolutely Horrific & Went Good
3. 2 votes. Were Pretty Bad
4. 0 votes. Absolutely Great!

New Poll: Since there seems to be a lot of talk about this recently, my question is: How do you feel about the "Career" Oscar Win many filmmakers have benefited from?

Random Stuff
- I've noticed, ever since my podcast with Hatter I've continued my streak of combining various sports references in a statement. You tee it up, I'll slam dunk it. To be honest, I prefer it this way.

- I've noticed I need to stop referencing Takashi Shimura as one of my favorite actors all time. It just entices blank stares.

- Have any of you ever seen a Leprachaun? I keep looking for them, but to no avail. I find this very depressing. I could really use a pot of gold... or my own mini-me. BOOOOOOO!

That's all she wrote ladies and gents. See you next time, bye!

So I only get a treat when we don't agree, not when we rarely do? That seems to only give me more reason to disagree with you then!
