The Monday Corner 11/30/2009
Ah ladies and gentlemen, I'm sorry to inform you that today, November the 30th, 2009 is in fact a Monday. Much mourning shall commence throughout the country as we return to work/school following our turkey filled vacation. Fear not though, as we all have a better tomorrow on the horizon, a beautiful month lies ahead... until Christmas in which we can stuff our faces full of ham! hehe (hey I almost sounded poetic in there for a second!).
For your Consideration:
Not going to do a lot of linkage because of timing, but alas here we go -
1001 Movies Club kicks off their run with one of my personal favorites The Apartment. Be sure to check out everyone's reviews as well as stay tuned for Raising Arizona later today!
Hollywood Spy and blogmaster Dezmond takes a glance at the first photos for the upcoming Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
CineMarvellous takes a look at one of the more underwhelming films of the year, Surrogates (darn you Bruce Willis!).
Because I Saw the Film wonder's allowed for their love of the "obviously flawed" St. Elmo's Fire.
Life of a Cinephile takes a look at Allen's much beloved Manhattan, and comes out with a Yes! for watching recommendation.
Film Experience Blog analyzes this year's Golden Satellite's nominations, and is unsure what to make of the group... especially their nominations (2012 getting nominated but not Moon? Really? Fail!).
Poll Update:
Wow, with that IMDB hit list my poll actually got some votes! Though if I could be frank I have to admit I sort of prefer when it's just you few loyal readers (all those comments with no discussion just feels wrong).
Poll Results: Rather evenly split I must say, but to be honest we all know it depends on the kind of fight :).
1. Rambo (18 votes)
2. Rocky (14 votes)
3. Draw (3 votes)
New Poll: With these these actors/actresses constantly in talks for Oscar wins I figured I'd put it out there for you all. Who do you think will win an Oscar first: Viggo Mortensen, Edward Norton, Amy Adams, or Johnny Depp?
*Yes I know I went away from the random this week, I know you all were tested but I figured it's alright to give you a pass this week :P.
Random Stuff
- Just a general note: these next couple of weeks are going to be very busy for me (finals) so if I don't keep this site updated as much as I usually do, don't worry I haven't forgotten about you!
- I have to admit, I wonder what it would be like if there was a massive tickle fight spread across the nation one day. I think it would do us good :).
- There's few things I hate as much as saying goodbye to family in order to return to school, especially after long breaks, it just feels so anti-climatic. What I need is a big chase scene, a beautiful girl, and perhaps some John Williams music!
Alright, like I said, a rather abbreviated version of The Monday Corner this week. Please feel free to comment/complain as you will!

@Mad early morning class + 30minute walk = early rising me.
How the hell did Rocky get all those votes. WHAT THE HELL??? Okay, that's my two cents :)
Am I the only person in the world who actually likes Mondays? :)
