Random Question

If you were to become an actor, which of the following would you prefer?

1) To be incredibly famous, maybe win an oscar or two, but years after your death all of your films have become forgotten.

or

2) Never achieve fame, manage to do only one film, but years after your death that film be considered the greatest film ever made.

Don't worry it's not a psychology exam, it's just a question that I was thinking of... and to be honest I don't have a good answer for, I want both dammit! :) Your thoughts?

the second one, because the highest aim of every human should be to leave a trace in history (the positive one off course).

I'll settle for a trilogy preferably the reboot of the Indiana Jones series, where I play Indiana Jones. I'll make a few million, it will be regarded as the best Indiana Jones series ever, I'll end up marrying my co-star either Keira Knightley, Rachel McAdams or Eva Green, and live happily ever after in Australia, never to be heard from or seen again.

The selfish side of me says "give me the fame and glory now" but after I think about it, I'd rather be know long after I'm dead and gone.

#2 all the way; great question! Ask me again when I am 70 (easier to look back and see what I should have done). :)

Number two - easily. Those who hand out awards often make the wrong call.

Let somebody else be ORDINARY PEOPLE...I wanna be RAGING BULL.

Screw it, I'll say the first one. Even the greatest will be forgotten eventually.

Though I think my real choice is one not given: long-employed character actor who is neither ass-rich nor award-laden, but it respected, remembered, and makes enough to live nicely off of. Someone in the Buscemi, JT Walsh realm.
